ABUNDANCE supports a positive sense of well-being, vitality and balance. Encourages feelings of physical and emotional abundance.

ACCEPTANCE evokes images of acceptance, overcoming procrastination, and conquering denial; promotes feelings of confidence. This oil awakens the inner being to our potential. Apply where you can smell it or over the liver. It is much gentler than release.

AWAKEN helps “awaken” to possibilities, to support many areas of spiritual awakening. It is a blend of blends, combining the qualities of Joy, Forgiveness, and White Angelica. My favorite place to apply Awaken is on my forehead and temples.

BELIEVE is the oil we pick when we are filled with doubt. It helps to create the environment that allows us to feel confident that we can do it!

BRAIN POWER restores mental alertness or wakefulness when experiencing fatigue. One of the best ways of using Brain Power is to put a drop on your finger and apply it to the roof of your mouth.

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT warms both physically as well as emotionally. It brings back images of joyful holiday get-togethers. An unusual way to use Christmas Spirit is to apply it to the soles of the feet and balance, similar to Valor. The feeling of warmth seems to travel up the legs and into the body and a feeling of contentment and gentle happiness is the result. This oil is also great to diffuse.

CITRUS FRESH is an awesome inexpensive oil blend to diffuse to put a happy fragrance into the air. It promotes feelings of creativity, joy, and a sense of well-being. It is also tasty in drinking water.

CLARITY helps to provide greater clarity of thought, and increases alertness. Forehead, temples, or back of the neck are all great places to apply this blend.

DRAGON TIME is great for providing balance during the time before and during one’s menstrual cycle. As well as helping to ease cramping, can be very beneficial for relaxation. Ankle bones, as well as on location of tension are good application sites.

DREAM CATCHER is great before bed to “catch” that dream, and in a bigger view, it helps to define goals and change dreams into achievements. Try a drop or two on your pillow.

ENDOFLEX helps to create balance in the endocrine system. This blend is usually most beneficial for hormonal type headaches and hot flashes. It can be applied over the thyroid, adrenals and ankle bones.

EN-R-GEE provides support for the adrenals. It may be very beneficial during times of fatigue. Supports feelings of alertness and vitality in the body.

ENVISION has an aroma that elicits images of emotional fortitude, renewed faith in the future, and sharpened intuition. Apply at center of the forehead.

FORGIVENESS helps create the emotions necessary to forgive yourself and others. This very relaxing blend can be applied where you can smell it, for example, using it like a perfume or aftercare, or across the forehead. Some like to apply Forgiveness on the navel or solar plexus.

GATHERING is used to “gather” what we need to grow; to focus. Its formula is similar to the holy anointing oil recipe given to Moses. This blend is very strong and may be best used after one feels more balanced. Apply to the temples and neck.

GENTLE BABY is a great blend for relaxation, and may be preferred by younger children and men over Peace and Calming. Very good for sleep. May be best applied where one can smell it as one relaxes (such as forearms). It is also fabulous for a nighttime back rub. It is gentle enough to use on the youngest of children or the most sensitive of adults. It may help to provide security to assist in healing issues of very early childhood.

GRATITUDE may help create a feeling of gratitude, a very empowering emotion. Sometimes we may need a little help when it seems like there is nothing to be grateful for.

GROUNDING is a scent that inspires rational and logical thinking when dealing with adverse circumstances. It may help bring someone back to earth, and help them feel more connected. Apply to the back of the neck or on the bottom of the feet.

HARMONY is a gentle blend of many oils that elicits the sensation of well- being, balance, and happiness. It can be used to balance polarity as well.

HIGHEST POTENTIAL is an uplifting blend that helps you gather your possibilities and awaken your desire to “the sky is the limit.”

HOPE helps bring hope to “hopeless” situations. A great place to apply Hope is on the outer edges of the ears.

HUMILITY is a beautiful blend that includes rose and frankincense and helps create a feeling of strong spiritual connection. Apply humility to your hands and inhale, or massage into your temples.

INNER CHILD is a truly joyful blend. The citrus in this blend brings joy to the heart. May help regain a sense of identity where one was lost. Apply around the navel.

INSPIRATION is great for meditation. Apply to crown, forehead, and temples.

JOY is one of my favorites. It helps to bring a feeling of self-love and joy to the heart. Revives feelings of self-confidence. Apply as a perfume or over the heart. It is great to diffuse.

LIVE WITH PASSION is a unique aroma that inspires enthusiasm and passion for life and a sense of accomplishment.

MAGNIFY YOUR PURPOSE helps you see beyond your current situation and discover a higher expression of yourself.

MOTIVATION helps to get you up and moving!

PAN AWAY is not just for physical discomfort. Use over ear points, or on your heart for emotional pain.

PEACE & CALMING was designed for hyperactive children and adults. It is awesome diffused or applied where you can smell it. It gently soothes away tension and can bring a state of calm.

PRESENT TIME assists in getting you out of the past and into the now. You can only progress when you are free from dwelling excessively in the past or worrying about the future. This beautiful fragrance makes a great perfume.

RELEASE helps release negative emotion and anger. Apply it over the liver or on liver points. It contains oils that support the physical liver, too.

SACRED MOUNTAIN has a strong clean fragrance that brings about a feeling of strength, courage and empowerment as well as spiritual connection. It makes a great men’s cologne.

SARA helps to heal sexual or ritual abuse issues. Apply around the navel or chest.

SENSATION is a beautiful sensual fragrance that may also help one feel loved and desired.

SURRENDER is extremely relaxing; great for sleep and may help type A personalities loosen up a bit.

3 WISE MEN is both a meditation oil and great for helping to release negative emotion from the DNA. It brings a sense of grounding and a feeling of being uplifted or supported while deep-seated trauma is being released.

TRANSFORMATION reaches into the deepest recesses of memory to empower and uphold the changes you want to make in your belief system.

TRAUMA LIFE helps to release trauma from a cellular level, both physical as well as emotional. The oil evokes the sensation of being released from feelings of anger, fear, and restlessness.

VALOR is very important in assisting all the oils and supplements to work better. It helps promote balanced energies in the body; encourages feelings of confidence, courage, and self esteem. Apply to the bottoms of the feet and the shoulders.

WHITE ANGELICA is applied to the crown and shoulders to increase the electrical field around the body and provide a sense of protection. It creates wholeness and neutralizes negative energy. Can also be worn as a perfume.

Nature Walks Help Your Brain

Nature Walks Help Your Brain
So many people find that the Sunrider foods make their brain clearer or in the words of many, "the fog just lifted".  Well, here is another tip.  Sort of well known already within us but it is nice to see it studied.
As published in the Washington Post, a bevy of recent studies have added to a growing literature on the mental and physical benefits of spending time outdoors.  That includes recent research showing that short micro-breaks spent looking at a nature scene have a rejuvenating effect on the brain -- boosting levels of attention -- and also that kids who attend schools featuring more greenery fare better on cognitive tests.
Another recent study, a cognitive neuroscience study, meaning not only that benefits from a nature experience were captured in an experiment, but also that their apparent neural signature was observed through brain scans.
The paper, by Stanford's Gregory Bratman and several colleagues from the Untied States and Sweden, was published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.  In it, 38 individuals who lived in urban areas, and who had "no history of mental disorder," were divided into two groups -- and asked to take a walk.
Half waked for 90 minutes through a natural area near the Stanford campus.  The other half walked along a very busy road in downtown Palo Alto, California (along El Camino real, for those who know the area).  Before and also after the walk, the participants answered a questionnaire designed to measure their tendency toward "rumination," a pattern of often negative, inward-directed thinking and questioning that has bee tied to an increased risk of depression, and that is assessed with questionnaire items like "My attention is often focused on aspects of myself I wish I'd stop thinking about," and "I spend a great deal of time thinking back over my embarrassing or disappointing moments."  Finally, both before and after the walk, the participants had their brains scanned.
The result was that individuals who took the 90-minute nature walk showed a decrease in rumination -- they actually answered the questionnaire differently, just a short period of time later.  And their brain activity also showed a change consistent with this result.  In particularly, the scans showed decreased activity in the subgenual prefrontal cortex, the region of interest.
So a word of advice?  Eat healthy and take a hike!

Coconut Oil Uses

Ideas on How to Use Coconut Oil
1. Moisturizer – simply scoop some out of the jar and apply all over your body, including neck and face.
2. Eye cream – apply under the eyes to reduce puffiness, bags, and wrinkles. Use on the lids in the evening.
3. Preshave – coconut oil will prep skin for the pending damage caused by shaving.
4. Aftershave – coconut oil will help heal your skin after shaving without clogging pores.
5. Deodorant – coconut oil alone can be used as a deodorant, but even more effective in combination with cornstarch/arrowroot powder and baking soda!
6. Hair Conditioner/Deep Treatment - use as a leave in hair conditioner by applying a teaspoon of coconut oil to your ends and then running your fingers through your hair to distribute the rest! For a deeper treatment, rub in a tablespoon of coconut oil onto your dry scalp and gently work through to the ends. Put a shower cap on to prevent transfer onto bed linens and leave on overnight.
7. Hair Gel/Defrizzer – rub a little between your palms and either scrunch into hair (for curly hair) or finger comb in through from scalp to ends (for wavy/straight hair).
8. Toothpaste – there are numerous recipes out there but I just mix coconut oil and baking soda and dab a little of the mix on my toothbrush.
9. Make up remover – use a cotton swab and a dab of coconut oil and you would be amazed at how well it works!
10. Chapstick – just rub a little into lips and it not only acts as a softening agent but it also has an SPF of about 4 so you get a little protection!
11. Massage Oil – pretty simple; grab some and rub!
12. Lubricant – it is an all natural, perfectly safe personal lubricant. Not compatible with latex!
13. Sunscreen
14. Stretch Mark Cream – coconut oil is great at nourishing damaged skin. It may not be the magic stretch mark cure but it will help.
15. Nipple Cream – works great to nourish cracked, sore, or dry nipples. Apply to a cotton ball and leave on your nipples between feedings.
16. Diaper salve – very comforting on a rashy bum with no harsh chemicals. Also safe for cloth diapers.
17. Cradle cap – having issues with dry skin on your baby’s scalp? Coconut oil will not only nourish your baby’s skin, it also helps eliminate cradle cap. Just rub a teaspoon onto scalp daily.
18. Body scrub – mix coconut oil and sugar together and rub all over! Rinse off and your skin will be super soft! You can add in essential oils if you would like a specific smell.
19. Healing - when applied on scrapes and cuts, coconut oil forms a thin, chemical layer which protects the wound from outside dust, bacteria and virus. Coconut oil speeds up the healing process of bruises by repairing damaged tissues. Plus, it smells a heck-of-a-lot better than anything from the pharmacy.
20. Bug Bites – when applied directly to a bug bite, coconut oil can stop the itching and burning sensation as well as hasten the healing process.
21. Skin problems – coconut oil relieves skin problems such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema.
22. Swimmers Ear – mix garlic oil and coconut oil and put a few drops in affected ear for about 10 minutes. Do this 2-3 times a day and it usually works within one or two days.
General Health and Wellness
23. Stress Relief - relieve mental fatigue by applying coconut oil to the head in a circular, massaging motion. The natural aroma of coconuts is extremely soothing thus helping to lower your stress level.
24. Digestion - the saturated fats in coconut oil have anti-bacterial properties that help control, parasites, and fungi that cause indigestion and other digestion related problems such as irritable bowel syndrome. The fat in coconut oil also aids in the absorption of vitamins, minerals and amino acids, making you healthier all around.
25. Fitness - coconut oil has been proven to stimulate your metabolism, improve thyroid function, and escalate energy levels, all of which help decrease your unwanted fat, while increasing muscle.
26. Nose bleeds - coconut oil can prevent nose bleeding that is caused by sensitivity to weather such as extreme hotness and extreme coldness. This condition happens when the nasal passages become dry because of cold or dry air resulting to burns and cracks in the mucus membranes so bleeding happens. To prevent this just put coconut oil in you nostrils. Coat your finger with coconut oil and then lie down and coat your finger inside your nose. Doing this will strengthen and protect the capillaries in the nasal passages. A Vitamin C supplement will also help prevent nose bleeding.
27. For breastfeeding moms, consuming 3 ½ tablespoons of coconut oil daily will enrich your milk supply.
28. Helps with weight loss & controlling cravings.
29. Helps keep blood sugar levels stable and/or helps with cravings in those with diabetes.

78. Seasoning animal hide drums
79. Seasoning cookware
80. Moisturizing and cleaning leather products
81. "Pulling" Look up coconut oil pulling, you swirl the oil in your mouth for a while and spit it out.  It draws stuff out and gives you fresh breath and whiter teeth.
82. It's good for your dog!  Put a little on the back of a spoon and watch your dog lick it up.  It's good for the coat and they will have less dry skin itching.
